A Glorious Weekend in New York City

Here comes the Pope down 5th ave. I got to 5th ave. about 3 hours before the Pope did and was able to get a place up front. The turnout was amazing, about 10 people deep on both sides of 5th Ave. for over a mile.

The next few shots are from the mass at Yankee Stadium on Sunday April 20th.

We got to meet Harry Connick Jr. who sang at the pre-mass concert.

Cheering for the Holy Father!

After the mass we were interviewed by the 5 O'Clock television news.

Spring Break Pictures

Here are a few pictures from our spring break trip. a few days at the beach in the Florida panhandle and a few days in New Orleans.

Her first time playing volleyball. I think she is a natural!

My little super model.

Ready for Mardis Gras....

First beignet at Cafe Du Monde

St. Louis Cathedral after dark.

The aftermath of Katrina - 2 years later. Here are some shots we took of the 9th ward. Still a lot of destruction. You will see fixed up homes right next door to these abandoned ones.

In many ways the city is bouncing back but as you can see there is still a ton of work to be done. It was sobering to spend time in New Orleans and makes us thank God for all of our blessings. Our daughter brought seven giant bags of toys to donate to kids in New Orleans. Her little way of helping. The generosity and pureness of a seven year old will bring tears to your eyes and melt the hardest heart.

Birthday Photos

I am Back from all of the travels and am trying to get caught up. Here are a few pics from my daughter's birthday party.

Time for tea.
Does it look like she got what she wanted?

Lot's of excitement and travelling...

Spring break starts for us this weekend. Tomorrow we are packing up the rig and heading out for a week long road trip. We are going to spend a few days at the beach and then a few days in New Orleans. It's been a while since we have been out in the RV so we are really looking forward to getting away. The other exciting news is that we just found out that we got tickets to the Pope's mass in Yankee stadium on April 20th. We will be flying up to New York city to spend a long weekend and create memories that will last a lifetime. I will try to post some photos from all of our adventures over the next few weeks. Cheers!

Happy Birthday!

Lot's of excitement around the Knapik's today. It is our daughter's birthday and we are having a birthday tea party. I think the American Girl dolls will out number the humans...Hopefully I will get a few good pics at the party.
